Good Morning and Welcome to St. Mary’s Church!

Many thanks to our guest soloist this morning, Ms. April Armstrong, for sharing her great talent with us today as we come to the end of Advent. Thank you so much, April!!

Stewardship Time: As we prepare to enter a new year, St. Mary’s Stewardship Committee is asking all members with a current pledge to renew their pledges and consider an increase in the level of your pledge. For those who do not pledge, now is the time! Today our Wardens, Ms. Delores Jones and Ms. Lysander Puccio, will address the congregation. If you have any questions, please speak with Mr. Patrick Harding, Stewardship Committee chair.

Four Projects: We passed opur goal of raising $6000 for this effort!! Praise God and thank you St. Mary’s members! The work has begun and will soon be completed (weather cooperating!) Thanks to all who helped make these projects a reality.

“Blue Christmas” A service for those who feel the death of loved ones especially during Christmas and the Holidays. Wednesday, Dec. 23rd at 7:00 pm.  Come join us as we ask God’s care for them and us at this time. For more information, please see Rev. Kooperkamp.

Christmas Eve Service: December 24 at 7:30 pm we will gather in worship to give thanks for the birth of the Savior.

Annual Kwanzaa Celebration: Sunday December 27 at 10:00 am we will hold our Kwanzaa Celebration, Mr. Charles Kelly and St. Mary’s Choir leading our worship.

New Lift Every Voice and Sing Hymnals: The Vestry authorized the purchase of 100 new “Lift Every Voice and Sing” Hymnals and 50 new “The Book of Common Prayer.” If you wish to defray the cost of a hymnal and dedicate it to someone special or simply in thanks to God, the cost is $13.00. Please put any gifts for the new hymnals or prayer books in an envelope and write “Hymnal” on the envelope or in the memo portion of your check, and include any dedication you wish to be made.

Eccelsia: Marcus Garvey Park: Sundays at 2:00 pm. St. Mary’s is the lead congregation on the first and third Sunday each month. Today we will need a few volunteers to help make bag lunches after the 10:00 am service. Many thanks to all helping to make this new Church a powerful witness to the love of Jesus in our city.

St. Mary’s Saturday Homeless Outreach: Our program to reach out to the homeless in Harlem needs more volunteers. We prepare about 60 bag lunches between 12 noon and 2:00 pm & then go out on the streets from 2:00 pm until about 3:30 pm. If you can help, please speak to Glenda White, Janet Dorman or Lysander Puccio. Please note: The Outreach program will take off the Saturday after Christmas, Dec. 26th and will resume on Saturday, Jan. 2nd.

Church Basketball League and Tutoring Program: We are in the process of forming a Harlem based Episcopal Church sponsored league and educational program under the leadership of renown sports columnist Bill Rhoden of the New York Times and a member of the Church of the Intercession.
