Good Morning and Welcome to St. Mary’s Church!!

Stewardship Drive: Today we begin a Stewardship Campaign for 2011. Pledge cards are available to enable giving by our members to support St. Mary’s mission, to carry out the work God has for us to do. This Stewardship Campaign will reach out to the entire conger-gation. We will hold a Stewardship Luncheon on Oct. 17th. Today, Patrick Harding will be our Stewardship speaker.

Episcopal Church Women’s Prayer Committee will meet today following the 10:00 am service. Rev. Chloe Breyer will share her experiences of the recent trip to Haiti.

New York Intern Program: Today we formally welcome our five new interns to St. Mary’s Church and commission them for their year of service. Our new inters are Dawn Bailey, Ciara Conway, Naja Muhammad, Nick McBurney and Christopher Robinson. We also welcome back Rev. Wayne Meisel of the Fund for Theological Education and a great friend of St. Mary’s and the New York Intern Program.

Sunday School at St. Mary’s starts again this morning. May God bless our teachers and children and may they grow in love and faith this year. Welcome back!!

VOTE VOTE VOTE: Primary Election Day in New York City: September 14th. The polls are open from 6:00 am until 9:00 pm. Go vote and represent our community.

Reliv Health Fair: Sept. 19th after the 10:00 am service all are invited to attend. Nutri-tional beverages will be served. Sponsored by Mrs. Emma Collins (646) 642-8855.

Tuesday Evening Prayer and Bible Study will resume on September 21st at 6:00 pm. This Fall we will begin a study of the Hebrew scriptures.

The next Vestry meeting is Sept. 23rd at 6:00 pm. All are welcome to attend.

Music at St. Mary’s: Season Opening Concert: Sept. 26th at 3:00 pm: The Harlem Chamber Players return for a new season!! The program includes: Johann Sebastian Bach “Viola da Gamba Sonata in G Major, for Cello and Piano” Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson “Movement for String Trio” Max Bruch Pieces for Clarinet, Viola and Piano & Brahms “Sextet No. 1 in B-flat Major for Strings”

Eccelsia: Marcus Garvey Park: Sundays at 2:00 pm. St. Mary’s is the lead congerga-tion on the first Sunday each month. Today, September 5 th we will need some volunteers following the service to help us put together the meals. Also: St. Mary’s Homeless Street Outreach: Saturdays, 12:00 noon preparation and 2:00 pm street outreach. Please let us know if you can help and please keep the Homeless Street Outreach in your prayers.

Movies at St. Mary’s: St. Mary’s and Ecclesia Ministries will show movies at 6:00 pm on Fridays, and once a month host and open mic cabaret. Come for the fellowship, the popcorn and the FUN!! Also, we need volunteers to help set up and clean up after the movies, so please let Lisa Slocum know if you can help out. Thanks!!
