We’re grateful for all the ways people help us with our mission.  Come share your talents with us, if you have time.  Lend us your experience and expertise.  Share what’s worked for you (or hasn’t) in your community.  Come roll up your sleeves.  Or just come and worship God with us and we can strengthen our faith together.

If, however, you’d also like to donate money to help us in our efforts to walk in the gospel and reach a hand out to the “least of these,” we would be blessed if you did so.  Any amount will make a difference.

    1. We accept clothing, accessories, shoes, dishes and small kitchen items. The best time to bring the items is when the Thrift Shop is open, Saturdays 12 to 5 pm or Sundays 12 to 2 pm. If that does not work for you, please contact the church office at 212 864-4013 to make an appointment for a time that is convenient for you. Thanks for your donation!

  1. Hello,
I hope you are having a wonderful evening. I have a bag full of beautiful clothing that I don’t need anymore majority of it can be worn for interviews and I also have a pair of knee high boots that are brand new that aren’t comfortable for me. Do you still collect Clothing? I’ve had this bag for 2 years now all other companies will not do pick ups or have strict rules on what they will accept. Please contact me I am currently living on 137th st and can walk over anytime!

    Have a wonderful day!

  2. Good Morning,

I came across your page and wanted to reach out and introduce myself.

My name is Michael Palacios and I work for The Junkluggers, an eco-friendly furniture removal company focused on donation, reuse, and recycling. Every day we haul away furniture, books, clothes, and more that our customers no longer want/need anymore and strive to keep what we can out of the landfill. Most if not all the items we remove are still in excellent shape and we’re constantly looking to expand our partners so I was hoping to connect and get some more information.

Please let me know who I should be speaking with and what the best way to get in touch with them is. I look forward to hearing from you soon and learning more on how your donations process works.

    Michael Palacios

Best Regards, Peace, Love, and Junk!

  3. Do you accept dishes and various kitchen wares? I would like to bring over two boxes of items that I am looking to donate.
    Thank you

  4. Hi,

Do you still accept some donations? I’m moving and I’m donating some small stuff – used oven toaster and swifffer.

Nothing big, but can be helpful.

    1. St. Mary’s Thrift Shop accepts donations of clothing and small household items. It is open on Friday evening 5 pm to 7 pm, and Saturday and Sunday 12 noon to 5 pm. Call the church if you have any questions 212 864-4013.

    1. Hi La’Tisha,

Sorry for the delay responding, we are happy to accept donations of working office equipment like printers. Thank you! If you have not already donated it elsewhere, we can accept donations on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9:30 am and 2 pm.

  5. I am going through my mother’s memories and I found St. Mary’s membership directories from the 30’s and 40’s – just a few but rather than toss them, I’m wondering whether the church could use a few more for the archives. I’ll always protect them but my family won’t. Rev. Ackley saved my mother and sister from an orphanage even though their mother (who had a job) and grandparents were alive. They grew into amazingly strong women. She adored him. She carried his spirit with her throughout her life. I wish I had asked more questions.
So anyone interested? I would be glad to mail them.

    1. If you still have the directories, we would love to have them. We now have completed renovations and have a new Rector who can keep track of things like that. The address is The Rev. Mary Foulke, 521 West 126th St, New York, NY 10027. God bless, Dorothy Ross

      1. You’ve caught me amidst managing a Harriet Tubman Conference in Cambridge, MD – the area where she grew up. As you know she is a saint in the Episcopal Church – a humanitarian who many of us can just dream about doing. That will be over next week, then I will get back to the books. Your message warmed my heart, I kind of just stopped all the work on behalf of my mother when it seemed that no one was interested. I didn’t see what was going on in your parish, sounds like positive steps. The Church National Archives in TX was willing to take them but this will be better. Interesting how things are coming together for this small family, story for another day.
        Sincerely, Ellen Mousin

      2. The conference about Harriet Tubman sounds wonderful. Hope it all goes well. No rush about the directories – they have already been waiting a long time! God bless, Dorothy

    1. Thank you for your interest in sharing with the poor. Donations can be left on the tables in St. Mary’s Garden Monday through Saturday. Dorothy

  6. I’m moving and would love to donate clothes & baby things that i am not taking with me. who would i contact to make arrangements

    1. St. Mary’s does not have storage room, so if you have more than a small number of items. i recommend donating to Goodwill or the Salvation Army. Contact the Church Office at 212-864-4013 for further information.

      1. Dear Ms. Farley,

St. Mary’s is not associated with the Missionaries of Charity, although we are in the same neighborhood. St. Mary’s address is 521 West 126th Street.

  7. Hi,

My husband and I live in the area. We cleaned out our closets and wondered if you took housing/clothing donations – or if you could direct us to a facility near by.

    1. Thank you for your interest in donating items! St. Mary’s does take clothing and small household items, which are distributed for free. You can leave items off on the picnic tables in the churchyard Monday to Saturday. Other good places to donate items are Goodwill, located 2196 Fifth Avenue (135th Street) Phone # 212-862-0020 and at 512 West 181st Street (between Amsterdam and Audubon) Phone # 212-923-7910. The Salvation Army has locations at 26 East 125th Street (Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue) and at 268 West 96th Street (between Broadwaya and West End Avenue). Phone # for both Salvation Army locations is 800-AS-TRUCK.
