Happy Easter and Welcome to St. Mary’s Church!

A Blessed Mothers’ Day to all the great women of St. Mary’s Church. May God bless all the mothers and great women for their leadership and faithfulness. May this be a special day for each of you.

TODAY: Special Mothers’ Day speaker on Domestic Violence, the Rev. Dr. Sally McNichol, Executive Director of Connect, will lead a workshop following the 10:00 am service. All are invited to this program sponsored by the Episcopal Church Women.

THIS SATURDAY: May 14: Return of the “Ginormous Flea Market” Mark your calendars!!  10:00 am –5:00 pm, rain or shine! Rummage items, craft items, books, health screenings, baked goods! Come on out for a great day. We  LOVE volunteers. To help, use the sign up sheets on the back table. We need volunteers to work at least one four and a half hour shift. Thanks so much for your support.

Speak out for Living Wages: Rally at City Hall, Broadway and Murray Streets, Thursday, May 12^th at 11:00 am to support the “Fair Wages for New Yorkers Act” at the City Council Hearing.  “Now is the time” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., 1968 A bus will leave St. Mary’s Church for the rally at 10:00 am. You must be present here at the church by 9:45 am to board the bus. If you need more information or to RSVP for the bus, please contact Michael Paone (646) 508-4009 or email him at mpaone@nyccah.org

Eccelsia: Marcus Garvey Park: Sundays at 2:00 pm. St. Mary’s is the lead congregation on the first Sunday each month.  We need volunteers to help us make the lunches for the service.  Also: St. Mary’s Homeless Street Outreach: Saturdays, 12:00 noon preparation and 2:00 pm Street Outreach. Please let us know if you can help and keep the Homeless Street Outreach in your prayers.

Movies at St. Mary’s: 6:00 pm on Fridays. Come for the fellowship, the popcorn and the FUN!!  Also, we need volunteers to help. Thanks!!  May 13: Places in the Heart” (Sally Field: we like her, we really really like her! PG); May 20: “Red” (hilarious 2010 action-comedy with Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman & Helen Mirren; PG-13); May 27: “The Express” (excellent drama of the first African-American to win the Heisman trophy; PG).

Preaching schedule: May 15^th, the Rev. Earl Kooperkamp; May 22^nd, the Rev. Earl Kooperkamp; May 29^th, the Rev. Robert Castle. Rev. Kooperkamp is in Boston for the conference of the Episcopal Service Corps. He will return to St. Mary’s Church on Wednesday, May 11^th.
