Portmanteau: A “Celexploration” of Black Concert Music
Join rising tenor and Harlem Opera Theater Vocal Competition finalist Marcus Bedinger for a wonderful evening here at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Manhattanville on Friday, June 24th at 6PM. Portmanteau: A “Celexploration” of Black Concert Music blends your favorite classical composers with Black American composers and contemporary arrangements of Negro Spirituals, including some religious texts. Joined by Martin Garratt on piano. A love offering will be collected, and a donation of $10 is kindly requested.

Campaign to Help Syrian Refugees
Aim: To assemble 8,000 emergency hygiene kits which will be shipped and distributed to Syrian refugees in refugee camps
Organizers: The Multifaith Alliance (MFA) for Syrian Refugees, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee in collaboration with Heart to Heart International (HHI)
Date: June 26, 2016
Time: 12 – 5 p.m. (1 hour shift per individual)
Where: Lexington Avenue Armory on East 25th Street in Manhattan
What you can do: To disseminate information (newsletter, listserv, website, etc); To assemble at least 20 volunteers that will represent your organization and will commit to a one-hour shift between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. on June 26; please sign up by contacting NYIP Intern Nurana Radjabova, nurana.r.o@gmail.com.
