The annual Homeless Outreach Population Estimate Survey, known as HOPE, a point-in-time census undertaken each winter by three city agencies (DSS, HRA, and DHS) to estimate the number of unsheltered New Yorkers living on the street on one of the coldest nights of the year. The results provide the City with valuable information that helps determine how to allocate resources to best serve New Yorkers in need.

Volunteers are needed from 10 pm–4 am to help execute the count. Volunteers go out in teams of 3-4 people and training for HOPE volunteers will be conducted remotely. Visit nyc.gov/hope to learn more and to register.

200th Anniversary Next Event: The Philadelphia Eleven Saturday, March 2 @6pm
Since 1823, when St. Mary’s Church was established by both Jacob Schieffelin and Hannah Lawrence Schieffelin, St. Mary’s has a proud history of acknowledging the strength of women in church life. On March 2, we will celebrate a key moment in that history: St. Mary’s Church sponsoring two of the first women to be ordained in the Episcopal Church. Come join us for a special Women’s History Month screening of the Philadelphia Eleven: the story of the act of ecclesial disobedience that forever changed the face of the Episcopal Church. Co-sponsored with Episcopal Divinity School (EDS).
