We pray for all our ministries and all who participate: for our worship partners, St. Martin’s & St. Luke’s Episcopal Church; for the Mail Service (Mon-Friday 10am-2pm), Welcome Place & Movie Night; for St. Mary’s vitality; for on site ministries: Alanon, AA, CHHMP Medical Clinic, Connie & Jessie Mae’s Pantry (next 5/28), Martial Arts, NA, Quality Services for the Autism Community (QSAC), Three and a Half Acres Yoga, and Urban Qi (tai chi & qi gong).

for everyone in our parish: 

for the Rector, on sabbatical, her family, and for St. Mary’s leadership.

National Day of Nonviolent Action

Organizers of this event include the American Constitution Society, Black Voters Matter, Declaration for American Democracy, Indivisible, the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, National Urban League, and Voters of Tomorrow.

On July 17th, national organizations are coming together for an action in remembrance of John Lewis: Good Trouble Lives On.

The New York City Good Trouble team is planning a principled and peaceful action on July 17th that will center the demand for civil rights for immigrants and for every person in our communities. In honor of making some good trouble, we will host a rally and short march circling 26 Federal Plaza and culminating in a moment of silence and solidarity.

This is more than a protest; it’s a moral reckoning. A continuation of the movement Lewis helped lead, and a new front in the struggle for freedom.

Please note: A core principle behind our Good Trouble Lives On actions is a commitment to nonviolence in all we do. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
