NY Cares Coat Drive
The annual NY CARES Coat Drive has begun. The donation period runs from Nov 14 – Dec 29, 2017. Donations of clean used warm coats are accepted at most police precincts, including our own 26th precinct, across the street. For a list of more donation drop off sites, and how to volunteer, go to https://www.newyorkcares.org/coat-drive. Information as to where and when individuals can get coats is available in the parish office and the Food Pantry.
Wisdom Circle Forming
Seniors are a vital, integral part of the spiritual life and longevity of St. Mary’s and our communities. This Circle is an opportunity for elders of the community to share life stories, wisdom and presence with one another. It will include sacred dialogue, varying topics, Bible study- according to the desires of the group. First topic: The Wisdom of My Life. Recycling for a Good Cause
The drive this fall to collect used inkjet cartridges raised $120.10 for St. Mary’s. Thank you to everyone who participated! We will have another drive in the spring. If you want to donate any type of inkjet cartridges before the next drive, there is a collection box in the vestibule, next to the door to the Rectory. Your donations help the environment and St. Mary’s!

Miriam, Mark and Marx: Our interfaith Justice and Peace Activism Community meets the last Thursday of each month. We gather at 6:00PM to share food, experiences, and feelings. We then plan how to advance in the struggle against racism, sexism, and expanding war in these very troubling times. Free Movie! Every Friday Night at St. Mary’s Church at 6:00 pm… St. Mary’s Movies! Dec. 29. Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (2003, pg-13) Gandalf and Aragorn distract Sauron’s army while Frodo and Sam approach Mount Doom with the one ring. Come for the fellowship, the movie, the popcorn, dinner and the fun… as always, volunteers are needed.
Saturday Mobile Soup Kitchen: Help prepare sandwiches and lunch bags and then distribute them to our neighbors on the street. Every Saturday at 12 noon.
