Sunday, January 28, Coffee Hour: Wisdom Circle
Seniors are a vital, integral part of the spiritual life and longevity of St. Mary’s and our communities. This Circle is an opportunity for elders of the community to share life stories, wisdom and presence with one another. It will include sacred dialogue, varying topics, Bible study- according to the desires of the group. First topic: The Wisdom of My Life. Tuesday, January 30: The Trial of Sgt. Hugh Barry for the killing of Debora Danner
At the Bronx County Hall of Justice, 256 East 161st St., Courtroom 340. All who are able to appear in support of Ms. Danner and her family on the first day are asked to be present by 8:00AM. Some of us will be able to get into the courtroom; others will present a clear, public presence outside. February 21-March 21, 7 pm: Harlem Lenten Worship and Meal
Join Manhattan North Inter Parish Council in our annual Lenten observance of 7pm worship and a communal meal at different churches in Harlem each week. See entire schedule below. All are welcome!

Lent 2018: Stations of the Cross
An exhibition across NYC in 14 iconic destinations ( St. Mary’s will host Station 3: Jesus Falls, with an icon entitled “Our Lady of Ferguson” in our sanctuary throughout the Lenten season. People will be able to visit during office open hours (Monday-Friday, 10 am to 2 pm), and Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm as well as on Sundays.

NY Cares Coat Drive
Information as to where and when individuals can get coats is available in the Parish Office and the Food Pantry.

Recycling for a Good Cause
There is a collection box for inkjet cartridges in the vestibule, next to the door to the Rectory. Your donations help the environment and St. Mary’s!

 Regular Happenings at St. Mary’s Church! 

Every 1st Sunday 2:00 p.m. in Marcus Garvey Park. St. Mary’s is the lead congregation on the first Sunday of each month. We always need some volunteers to help prepare and serve the “Second Meal” following the service.

Unity Fellowship Church of New York

Miriam, Mark and Marx Our interfaith Justice and Peace Activism Community meets the last Thursday of each month. We gather at 6:00PM to share food, experiences, and feelings. We then plan how to advance in the struggle against racism, sexism, and expanding war in these very troubling times. Free Movie! Every Friday Night at St. Mary’s Church at 6:00 pm… St. Mary’s Movies! Feb. 2: 4 Little Girls (1997, tv-14, documentary, 1h42m) Story of the racial terrorist bombing of an African-American church during the 1960’s. Spike Lee directs.

Saturday Mobile Soup Kitchen Help prepare sandwiches and lunch bags and then distribute them to our neighbors on the street. Every Saturday at 12 noon.

Urban Qi (free Tai Chi and Qi Gong classes for St. Mary’s members) every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:30 am at St. Nicholas Park @135th Street. Winter–meet in the Undercroft.
