Snow Alert for Sunday, January 25, 2026

New York City has issued a Winter Storm Warning for 3 am on Sunday, January 25 to 6 pm on Monday January 26. Up to 10 to 14 inches of snow are expected. In addition, wind chill temperatures will hover around zero degrees. The public is asked to avoid unnecessary travel.

La ciudad de Nueva York ha emitido una alerta de tormenta invernal desde las 3:00 a. m. del domingo 25 de enero hasta las 6:00 p. m. del lunes 26 de enero. Se esperan entre 25 y 35 centímetros de nieve. Además, la sensación térmica se mantendrá alrededor de los cero grados. Se recomienda a la población evitar los viajes innecesarios.

Connie & Jessie Mae Food Pantry

Food continues to be on our minds within St. Mary’s congressional district (13) which has over 220,000 members and neighbors enrolled in SNAP food benefits.

Our next food pantry will be on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

Our Jessie and Connie Mae’s monthly food pantry, organized in collaboration with Love Wins NYC, is one collective effort that allows our neighbors access to healthy pantry staples and fresh produce.

Our volunteer base is slowly growing with new folks and alongside a consistent team of familiar faces. Together, we work to provide food to an average of 100+ of our neighbors every month.

Call for volunteers: If you are interested to volunteer with our food pantry, please email Rev. Mary Foulke rector@stmarysharlem.org to be added on our volunteer list.
We need hands for distributing food and for set up and clean up!

The Welcome Place
Fridays 2:30 pm to 5 pm

In the Undercroft
The “Welcome Place” is for anyone in our community looking for respite, though we are particularly reaching out to people experiencing homelessness.

The goal of the Welcome Place is to support people to find their belonging in this community whether they have been here all their lives, recently moved, or are new immigrants.

The Welcome Place offers some peace and kindness, a snack or a cold (or hot) drink; there are board games and arts and crafts for those who are interested.

The program ends with a smooth transition to Movie Night including a meal for those who choose to stay.

Volunteers support conversation for those who desire it, and provide information about and referrals to St. Mary’s based programs (Mail Service, CHHMP Clinic, 12 Step programs, or monthly pantry), or partner organizations (like African Services Committee).
